No claims discount or no claims bonus

No claims discount and no claims bonus are the same thing and refer to an insurance discount for every year of claim free driving, also often known as NCD. No claims discounts are given if you do not make a claim - so if you make a claim following an accident that is not your fault, and you insurer can’t reclaim all its costs from a third party, you are still likely to see you NCD reduced or lost.
